The Two Dissertation Moms Terms of Service

Scope of work

We provide editing, formatting, and review support for dissertations, theses, and academic manuscripts. Editing and formatting include grammar and language correction, tone and clarity improvement, structural and formatting work, citation and style formatting, and manuscript preparation. Review services include manuscript review, chapter review, research design and methodology review, committee feedback review, and journal manuscript review. A review assesses the work and gives written feedback and recommendations for the client to act on. We do not write dissertations, develop arguments, conduct research, or create content on a client's behalf. The intellectual content, arguments, and ideas in every document remain the client's own work and the client's responsibility.

What we do not guarantee

Our work is limited to the scope agreed at the beginning of each engagement. We do not guarantee committee approval, examiner acceptance, grades, publication, or any outcome that depends on a client's research, writing, or institution. Acceptance of a dissertation by a supervisor, chair, or committee rests on the client's scholarship and is outside the scope of our service.

Payment

A deposit is required before work begins. The remaining balance is due on completion of the agreed work, before the final file is released. Payment is for the work performed, not for the client's review period or for any external approval. Completed work is delivered once the balance is settled. We do not release final files on a promise of later payment.

Files and versions

Each engagement is carried out on one agreed file. Clients are responsible for reviewing and commenting on the current version we provide. We are not responsible for corrections raised against an outdated or incorrect file, and additional work caused by version confusion on the client's side may be charged separately.

Revisions

Each engagement includes a defined number of revision rounds, agreed before work begins. Revisions must be submitted as a single consolidated list per round. Requests that fall outside the agreed scope, including rewriting content, reworking arguments, or repeated changes to the same element after a decision has been made, are treated as new work and quoted separately.

Review timelines

Clients are welcome to take the time they need to review delivered work. Review time does not affect the payment terms above. Where a balance is due on completion, it remains due regardless of how long the client chooses to review the document.

Confidentiality

We treat all client documents as confidential and do not share, publish, or reuse client material without permission.
